Now that the JAMB results are out. You are looking for the easiest means to check your JAMB results without hassles. There are two methods you can use to achieve this: online and via SMS.

Please note that the phone number and email address you provided during registration will be required for the JAMB result checking process.

 

 

How to Check JAMB Results via SMS (The Quick Method)

• Open your messaging app: Navigate to your messaging app on your mobile device. Ensure you use the phone number you used during JAMB registration.
• The next step is to create/compose a message. Input the word “UTMERESULT” (in capital letters and without spacing).
• Send the message to 55019 or 66019. The service charge costs 50 Naira.
• Wait for a few seconds. You will receive a response message with what you scored in each UTME subject.
• Be sure you have a minimum of 50 Naira as it will be deducted from your airtime.

Common SMS Responses and Their Meanings:

• Results Withheld – This means your result is being subjected to review due to potential examination irregularities.
• Results pending – This means that your results are still being processed. It could also imply system processing, administrative checks, verification issues or further review.
• CANDIDATE ABSENT – When a candidate registered to take the UTME doesn’t show up, this SMS response appears.
• Invalid Entrance into the Exam Hall – This implies that the candidate did not participate in the examination.

 

How to Check JAMB Results Online (The Official Method)

To use this method, you need your JAMB registration number or email address and password used during the UTME registration process.

Note: Printing of your JAMB Results costs N500 only. You can easily make a payment via ATM card or other online payment options on the JAMB CAPS platform.

Here’s the step-by-step method to check JAMB results:

• Access the https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/.
• Enter your email and password.
• Sign in to your dashboard.
• Select “Print Result Slip”.
• Click on the payment method.
• Purchase the result printing fee.
• Choose your exam year.
• Enter registration number
• Select “Print Result Slip”.

If you can’t access your results yet, do not worry. JAMB is still uploading results for candidates. Ensure that you check the portal later if you don’t see your results at any given time.

Be sure to confirm if your result is out. You can do this by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 with the same phone number you provided when registering.

Can I check my JAMB results with a different phone number?

The answer is “NO”. You can only check your JAMB results via SMS using the number you provided during the registration process.

What if I’ve forgotten my registration number?

The fastest way to retrieve your JAMB registration number is via SMS. Here’s how:

• Launch your phone’s message app and create/compose a new message
• Input  “UTME RESULT”. Add a space. Beside it, type your ten-digit phone number used during registration.
• Send an SMS to 55019.
• You will get an SMS, which will show your score and JAMB registration number.
• This service will cost ₦50, and it will be deducted from your airtime.

 

What should I do after checking my result?

So, now that you have checked your JAMB results, you should do the following:

Find out your school’s cut-off mark: First, understand your preferred institution’s cutoff mark. This will help you figure out if you are eligible for admission.

Understand your course’s departmental cut-off marks: Departmental cut-off marks vary. They may differ from the general JAMB cut-off mark. Knowing this will give you a clue as to how competitive your course is and your admission chances.

Check if you need a change of institution or course: This is a good solution if you have a low JAMB score. You can seek a course or institution with a low cut-off mark.
