Method 1: How to Check JAMB Admission Status on JAMB CAPS Portal
JAMB CAPS portal is a platform established by JAMB to streamline admission, making it easy for candidates to confirm their admission status at any time.
Also, on the portal, you can confirm if you have been offered or denied admission. Your preferred institution can also upload, stall or approve your admission request.
You can access the JAMB CAPS portal using a computer or mobile device.
Using a computer
- Access the JAMB e-facility login page.
- Correctly input your email and password, then log in.
- Select Check Admission Status.
- Choose your exam year, input your JAMB reg no, and select Access my CAPS.
- Select Admission Status from the options.
- If you have received an admission, you will find the Accept Admission and Reject Admission options clickable.
- If you haven’t got an offer yet, the buttons won’t be clickable.
Using a phone
- Launch the Google Chrome browser on your mobile device, visit the JAMB e-facility and sign in.
- Click Check Admission Status.
- If you simply find a welcome message, use the desktop mode (navigate to the top right and select the three dots icon, tap “Desktop site”).
- Select Admission Status.
- Next, tap Search after inputting your JAMB registration number.
- You can select either Accept or Reject.
You can also send an SMS with the word “ACCEPT” or “REJECT“ to 55019 or 66019. Ensure you use the same phone number you registered with for JAMB.
Once you have accepted your admission, print your JAMB Admission Letter. During registration, you will be requested to provide it.
Method 2: How to Check JAMB Admission Status on the JAMB e-Facility Portal
- Access the JAMB e-Facility official website.
- Sign in to your profile.
- Select the “Check Admission Status” section.
- Input your UTME registration number and choose your exam year.
- Select “Check Admission Status.”
- You will see the following messages: “Congratulations, you have been offered admission… or “Not Admitted,” “Admission in Progress,” or “No Admission.
Understanding Your JAMB Admission Status Output
When checking your JAMB admission status, you may see the following:
- Congratulations, You Have Been Offered Provisional Admission
- Admission in Progress, Check Back Later
- Not Yet Admitted
- Admitted (Institution/Course Name)
Congratulations, You Have Been Offered Provisional Admission: This is self-explanatory. The next step is to reject and accept the offer.
If you choose the latter, ensure you print out your admission letter for documentation.
Admission in Progress, Check Back Later: This usually implies that your admission process is yet to be finalised. It is usually a good sign.
